RV Tip: Departure Reminders
Ever forget to lower your TV antenna, disconnect your shore power cord, or retract your jacks before pulling out of a campsite? Almost every RVer has experienced a near-miss or costly mistake when breaking camp!
The Steering Wheel Clip Method
Keep a few labeled clothesclips or brightly colored ribbons on your crank-up antenna handle or water bay valve. Whenever you raise the antenna or hook up shoreline power, move the corresponding clip directly onto your steering wheel or gear shifter.
When preparing to hit the road, the clip sitting directly on your steering wheel makes it physically impossible to drive off without remembering that your antenna is still raised or your shore power is still plugged in!
Slide-Out Lock Bar Reminders
If your slide-outs utilize manual travel lock bars or bracing struts, attach a length of high-visibility ribbon to each bar. The bright ribbons attract immediate visual attention inside the cabin before pressing the slide switch, saving drive gears and wall framing from severe damage.
Simple, inexpensive, but highly effective!
