ford engine running hot

Hi evryone, I am a newbi
I have a 1996 pace arrow 36 foot.
ford 7.5 engine 36,000 miles.
water temp guage runs all the way over to the "L" in normal when under a load.
Is this anything to worry about.
also just had coolant flushed.

I beleive it is still in the normal range, a little high, did they wash the radiator fins? How about the T stat was it changed? Check for a crimped/collapsing hose when hot.

Hank has it pretty well covered, a pinch on the hoses when hot often reveal if they have lost their spring! Should be relatively firm, not squishy.

Have you had the fan clutch checked lately to make sure it is working OK? Also, are your other gauges reading on the high side? The reason I ask is that it could be that the Instrument Voltage Regulator (IVR) is out of adjustment and pulsing the gauges with a little higher voltage than spec which will cause the gauges to read higher. I had this problem on an E-350 460 van.

Not familar with the instrument cluster but how hot is "L"? Before you get doing anything I think you need to know exactly what temp the engine is running. I may be nothing more than the gauge.

Anyway that is what I'd do and want to know.

I'll second Mickeys statement...before going too deep into the engine I would sure check the temp. with another gauge..."Been there done that", installing a second good guality gauge is sure cheap insurance... saved me big time in the past.

On my 92 NonRV van 'L' is WAY over ..
When you let up does it drop fairly quick?
If so, take a good look at those hoses.
