Repairing water damage

I'm in the process of repairing some water damage on the bunk area of my motorhome.I have to replace a small piece of plywood,what glue should I use,would contact cement be ok or is there something better.

I like Gorilla Glue. But most sub flooring glue should do it.

A little info would help, such as is it a Class A or class C motorhome. Is the damage on the ceiling, floor, wall, or mattress support.

Maybe a pic or two would help.

The damage is on the mattress support of a class c motorhome,it is over the passenger seat,about a 18" square piece.Would sub floor glue stick to the fiberglass.

Heya raf24,

When you mention fiberglass, are you referring to the back of the outer skin of the MH or to a piece like a head liner over the seat?

Most sub floor and construction adhesives tend to harden. Vibration can cause them crack or just pull what ever it's glued too. I'd use a heavy duty (marine)contact adhesive and either use sand paper to rough up the fiberglass or a deglosser.

Sounds to me like you are refering to the overhead bunk above the front seats. I had to replace all the wood in mine two years ago, what a job. If you are refering to the wall covering, any good contact cement like 3M should do. Same with the wood bed. Make sure you find where the leak is coming from and fix that also. My leak over the years was coming from the clearance lights. Carl
