I have never paid att. to what or how mine is actually held on?
But if it happened to me I,m setting here thinkin I just may get a needle and fishing line and stand there for a good hr and sow it back on and see if it would not last another few years? but i,m not sure if that would be the correct solution or not? it just would not cost much.
I've never tried to replace straps for window awnings. I was looking at the picture but can't tell how those straps attach. On a big awning, a new strap will slide in from an end into one of the slots. You just have to get it pulled all the way down first. I've done that by looping a rope around the shaft beyond the fabric at each end and then pulling it down, with a helper. You may have to pull it down to read the label on it, or maybe on the roller tube, before you can even order new straps.
They slide out the end of the slot. You have to make sure they are completely unrolled for the slot to line up with a slot in the end cap.
Some people have had to drill a small hole in the end cap when the slots did not line up.

these are the little awnings over the two windows on the slide out.
They are attached just by some sort of adhesive. You pull them down
and the strap then attaches to the fixture ( ?) on the coach.
If they are A&E window awnings they slide in a slot as I said above - at least all I have ever seen do.
If they are some other brand then I don't know.

Carefree's website has a technical document section with lots of products listed. I picked one that was window awnings and it looks like the strap has a small plastic "bullet" sewn into the end that would gointo a slot in the roller tube, like the big 'uns. They show one that's 28 inches and one 43 inches. It wll be the same length as the fabric unrolls so you'll need to pull it down to either measure it or to look for a tag with the model number.
