I've seen some good prices on awning fabrics (and other stuff) at PPL Motorhomes in Houston. All of their phone contact personnel seem to be well-versed in RV parts and shipping has always been reasonable. _________________ Gary Osburn

I use Big Discount RV. I've never bought fabric from them but saved me a lot of money on a hotwater heater. No state tax and free shipping.

I don't know if they offer free shipping all the time or not. |

I too recommend http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/ . I replaced the fabric on my A&E awning earlier this year with fabric I bought from PPL.
Just be sure to buy the universal fabric, not the A&E brand. I believe the fabric I bought is made by Carefree, but it fit my A&E just fine and cost a LOT less than the A&E brand fabric. _________________ - Russ |

About fabric makes--A couple of years ago the campground in CO. was hit with one of the longest hail storms I've ever experienced. The only awnings not damaged were those made by Colorado Carefree.
I figured it must be more expensive than the A&E fabric, not less as Russ suggests above. |

Eris - yes, the quality is the new seems to be as good as the original. The only appreciable difference is that the valance is a separate piece form the pain awning fabric. _________________ - Russ |

BTW, I confirmed last weekend that the replacement awning fabric I used was made by Carefree.
My guess is that they simply don't inflate the price, and that's why it costs so much less than A&E fabric.
When I was ordering it from PPL, I asked the gal on the phone whether there was a difference in quality. Her answer was, "No." And I tend to agree with her. _________________ - Russ |

| Do you have a place that makes awinings in your area, or a sail maker in the area. Either one could make your awning if you took the old fabric to them. The last time I bought my awning, I bought it from these people here in Orlando Giant Recreation World, who ordered it drop shipped. I don't believe you can purchase direct from the factory, but any RV dealer can order it from them. Carl |

Yeah Carl - the Carefree fabric I ordered from PPL in TX was shipped from Leesburg, FL. Seems like it was $250 or so. _________________ - Russ |

Salespeople at PPL Motorhomes were a nightmare to deal with.
I ending up buying the awning fabric from Camper's World--good service. |
