"splain this to me???????????????????????????

Postby jaaybird » Mon Sep 08, 2008 4:27 am

we went to the "california coast" this weekend for a high school football game for our son. It was in a village named
" CAMBRIA" California.
For those of you on the Eastern Coast and Canada, Cambria is the village closest to Hearst Castle, about 500 people, very Artsy/Crafty and
VERY EXPENSIVE!!!

After the game, we wandered down about 40 miles to a
Coast to Coast
property,in Oceano, about 40 miles away. The campground had street names.

this is what I need to have 'splained:

WHY WERE THE "LUXURY COACHES" SPOTTED ON
CAMBRIA DRIVE:

AND US "poor cousins" on BAKERSFIELD ROAD??????

I bet the campground hosts assigned the spots?
When you get to pick a spot then the coaches get mixed up better.
Or, maybe the upper ends had to pay more and their row had more things like sewer hookup, electrical, cable tv etc...
That is funny since I have never looked at the coaches to see how they are arranged when we camp.
I will keep my eyes open next time.
Did you see the sea lions on the beach near Hearst Castle?

Actually, you were lucky to even get in. Most of the time I belonged to Coast to Coast unless it was really off season they never had a spot (even
though we could see many empty sites.)
My memembership was given to me and I gave it away in a couple years.
exactly what it was worth.

Hope you are having better luck.

Thanks for clearing that up John.Had me worried for a second.

I bet the power on CAMBRIA DRIVE was all 50 amp and BAKERSFIELD ROAD was 30 amp.
Saw that in Iowa although the roads were not named.

So are most of those high end motor homes. Over prices, Noisy and smelly when started. Did you notice how junky the first picture was compaired to the second. Maybe they wanted to hide those big ugly Class A's. Carl

The sites were probably longer on Cambria, too... on the pic of Bakersfield, the spots on the right side of the road look a little stumpy for parking a BIG rig.

Another thought might be that these guys were part of a group travleing together with reservations made a while ago. Another might be they we're "regulars" who'd been there before and knew about the geography. Look at the hills behind the coaches, and think about the winds on the beach at night. My Daddy always tol me "You gotta keep lookin for the brighter side, no one can see nothing in the dark!" As tempting as it may be to paint a picture......
Spent my youth working on RV's with my Dad. I'm just coming back to them now and found my child hood was not a total waste.
