Fridge Fire

Well I have an old 1982 Brougham RV.. it has an Insta-matic Innovator series Fridge. when running on LP the rear of the fridge well...catches fire in the small control box( where the LP comes in and goes to the flame)...We think its just a LP leak and are going to pull and disamble the unit later tonight..Any one know whats going on?

It sounds like you have a leak, for sure. Check everything out well and let us know what you find out, 'kay? Be sure to test the fittings with a spray bottle and soap solution.

One tip: don't use any soap with ammonia in it ... it will turn the copper green.

Les, can you recommend a brand of soap? The stuff I used when I was working was a commercial soap mixture that the company I worked for purchased. I never bothered to remember the brand. Heck, I didn't have to buy it. What I use now is "Dawn" and water mixed. Carl
