Although it's been discussed MANY times, we've found no practical way to provide an archive of the Forum. That being said, Les does, when he finds a particularly good thread, save it to his RVer's Corner website.
At the same time, I leave some of the more informative or oft asked questions/threads on the board for a much longer period of time than normal.
We try to maintain the Forum at between 1000 and 1200 'current' messages. It isn't feasable to leave more than that because we've found that some people don't take the time to scan the titles when there are too many of them. They simply post their question and this creates lots of duplicate threads.
We're *averaging* between 80 and 100 new messages per day and some days we get upwards of 125. We try to keep the Forum timely and seldom maintain threads with resolved problems or acknowledged suggestions/solutions longer than it takes for the original poster to say 'thanks for helping'. Likewise, questions that receive no response are bumped to the top a couple of times and are then deleted when there are no answers.
The other category that gets my attention is the one where someone asks a question, receives lots of good advice, but never comes back to check or doesn't acknowledge the time and effort others have put into helping with the problem. I usually let those go for a few days but if the originator of the thread hasn't posted anything further in a week or so the thread is gone.
One thing you folks can do to help us is to make sure that the questions you ask are directed to the correct side of the Forum. Only those questions that deal specifically with RV 'Technical' subjects should be posted to that side of the board. That would save a lot of time and 'moved to the Safety - General Discussion side of the Forum' messages.
